perfect memory (coming soon)
A public art installation on the ocean
On View August 10-Sept 11, 2026
Floating in Dorchester Bay near Fox Point Boat Deck and Pavilion
perfect memory is a floating public art project launching from Carson Beach on August 10th and on view in the ocean near Fox Point Pavilion and Boat Dock from August 11th through September 11th. After its outdoor exhibition, perfect memory will be on view as the center of a solo-exhibition at University Hall Gallery at UMass Boston. The installation is made of locally harvested bamboo and flowing fabrics. Visitors may view the work as it floats in the water August 11 - Sept 11. The work is inspired by the ocean as a place for spirits and a portal to ancestors, a theory of water by Toni Morrison (from which this projects’ title draws), and the artist's own experience in the creation of this piece - that all visions are really a type of returning. The artwork asks for visitors to reflect on the question: who has dreamed you here? In this reflection, visitors may place themselves in a lineage of imagination work and be inspired to activate their own dreaming. 2023-Present
